| I think he has good intentions, but just has the wrong idea about what needs to be done. Like you said, how he made Claire's brother and her mom forget, and same with Zack, that's not really a good thing to do. Like someone i know said today, "good intentions pave the road to hell" |

What a smart person that must be. I agree and I love this thread. I think he is a very complex man and he is trying to do right by his family but he is stealing parts of them. We are made up of our experiences mixed with who our DNA has made us and if you take away the memory of some of those experiences, you take away a part of that person.
And I loved how Zach and Claire's relationship was progressing. But now, she's just the stuck up bitch of a cheerleader to him again.
I suspect that HRG (Horn-rimmed glasses) as Claire's father is often referred to, works for a very questionable "organization." They opted to keep Sylar alive so they could study him when it was obvious that he would never be "redeemed" or turn away from the dark side. I am totally against the death penalty but Sylar is not a normal human and containing him safely will not be easy. |

| Mr Bennett did refer quite briefly to the organization/people he worked for. However, all he revealed of them was that...he worked for them, and that he must be kept alive. Is this organization a government-sponsored group, or a private company, perhaps involved in genetics and the sort? If it were the latter, it sure must be a most welcome acquirement with the capture of Sylar, because his possession of several abilities is something I'm sure people must be interested in investigating. |

| HRG's betters clearly wish to not only police the superhumans and screw around with their powers, but also to keep their existence as secret as possible. Why else would they hire a memory-erasing guy? Oh, and about him; if anything threw me for a loop, it was his disobeying the order to erase Claire's memory. Clearly he is either a rogue within that organization, or HRG is being kept out of the loop for some reason. |

The Haitian has powers too, so I think the decision to leave Claire with her memory was all his own. He knows what she is going through, having experienced it himself. Knowing what makes her different will allow her to keep herself safe as she will be more on the defensive.
HRG is not a bad guy and I honestly believe that he's trying to do what's right. Stealing memories cannot be viewed as a righteous action in anyway though. I think he's so involved now, that he doesn't feel that there is any other course of action. Being a father has gotten mixed up with him also being a part of this organization. |

He's good, but he may be a puppet without realizing it. He also has his own agenda, straying off the path that the organization obviously wants, so he's emotionally driven if anything. We all know that emotion clouds reason. I'm just wondering.. He must have realized that removing Claire's memory would make her more vulnerable - he's very tactful - so maybe he had an ulterior agenda that we have yet to see? I just find it hard to believe he would stumble into such a stupid mistake such as removing his daughter's awareness.
Maybe the Haitian also knows some things that are otherwise top-secret. Kind of like how magicians used blind stage hands.. maybe HRG meant to use him as a sponge for his plans? Oh, but back when HRG and the Haitian were walking out of the police station.. When Matt was in the car. I didn't catch it, but I may be wrong if the Haitian's lips were moving. I figure it was just HRG talking, though. |

| I like all this mystery surround HRG and the Haitian. I don't see the point though, in Mr Benett ordering the Haitian to erase Claire's memory, because she would discover her power again sooner or later right? I don't think that he is evil in his intent, he only seems to wanting the best for the heroes, his superiors, and for his daughter. I do agree that he allows his emotions to regulate his actions, since he took advantage of Isaac's ability to save Claire. |
