Hiro and Ando at long last meet up with Isaac, who has returned to his roots of creating art for fun, not prophecy (or so it would seem). The boys prompt him to foretell what is to come in New York City, and Isaac's eyes go boiled-fish-white as his muse takes over. The result is a study that shows Hiro fending off a Godzilla-sized horror with a magical sword. from http://blog.meevee.com/my_weblog/200...kked.html#more
What's everyone's opinion on the painting? I've got mixed feeling on it. This could go either way in my opinion, but what do you guys think? |

| It was a good humorous moment in the episode, but just the same, the more I think about it the less I like it. Right now everything is so focused on the story arc of New York exploding, and I can't see how the dinosaur thing is related. It may be the beginning of a new storyline, but I wish, if that's the case, that they'd have postponed the scene slightly. It's sort of unfair to the viewers, who are searching for little clues for this storyline. And honestly, doesn't it ruin the suspense a little? If they are already setting up a new story arc then Hiro clearly survived the explosion. |

This is one thing I like yet dislike about the new television trend of "serial dramas": there are too many potential hidden storylines or little clues hidden in each episode, and it does drive one out of their mind just trying to predict where the story will go in the next episode!
Or maybe that's just me? |

I agree. Sometimes when I'm typing a theory on here or something, I think I'm making way too much of some small miniscule detail. Then it turns out that Hiro really did just want a glass of water, it's not symbolism that there is going to be some huge water shortage in upcoming episodes.
Just kidding, I don't overanalyse that much. |

LOL! But it's true! Sometimes you do all this thinking and analyzing for nothing, but hey! At least you're thinking while watching, which is better than just lazing around on the couch staring at the TV screen, right? |

Absolutely. Plus, it's pretty vindicating on those rare times when you do get it right! |

| Personally i think Hiro's powers might go awall on him and he'll find himself back in time or accidently bring a dinosaur back from time. I have a feeling it's just a step for Hiro in controlling his abilities. |

| The time travel power has to be my least favourite one on the show. It's difficult to theorize with it in the picture. |

It is difficult to theorize! I find having to keep track of all events and making sure not to disrupt the "time/space continuum" is so much of a hassle what with all these other theories flying around about other characters and plotlines... |

Wow, the group has grown in my temporary absence.
I have to say, it is ironic to hear everyone complaining so much about how hard it is to guess what happens next. Why else do we watch?

Welcome back bar. We have grown. And we have new styles and new smilies (click view more emoticons). And the frustration you're reading is exactly why we come back to watch. It's not meant as a criticism of the entire show; it reflects our desires to understand and to see more story and more character development.
Having watched X-Files from day one (yes I am old), living through many years in which very little that was concrete was revealed and episodes that promised answers often just created more questions, this is very familiar to me. It can make you feel like this though:
But eventually it'll make us feel like this: |

Welcome back!
Predicting is fun. Getting a headache from trying to work the time travel aspect into it is not.
Because it's such an abstract concept, coming up with theories becomes all the more complicated- especially because we don't understand exactly how it works in the show...like, if Hiro goes back to the diner again, will there be another Hiro there too? Or because he teleported back, did that disrupt the past so he's no longer present there? But, like you say, that adds another element of surprise to the show. I don't not want that power in the show- it would be nice to have it a little more fully explained though. I'd like to have a more concrete grasp of it. |
