If you haven't seen the episode Left Behind, do not read any further.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, did Locke become an Other? Was Juliet really left behind? And why didn't Jack, Sayid or Kate state the obvious fact that they should move everyone to the abandonned "Other-City?"
Thoughts?
Glad I have someone else to talk to about this.
Yeah, I really think that Locke became one of the others, I happen to think that Ben really persuaded him. Locke's a man of faith, and the island is what he believes in. Ben holds a powerful card when he says that he can give Locke answers. (Since Locke's been wanting answers since the first season)
I actually think that Juliet was left behind. I mean, she killed Picket (sp?) and she was branded as an outsider. I think she was living with them just to leave when Jack was able, she was probably just as much a prisoner as Jack.
As for them moving to the other city, it's still a possibility. I mean, they may talk about it in the next episode or mention it and then it'll become a reality. It is in fact the safest place on the island. |
I think, that for now anyway, Locke is one of the Others. However, he does have a strong sense of integrity and morality and he may turn against them at some point.
I do not trust Juliet one bit. And the first clue that she may not have been left behind but was left as a plant were the handcuffs. Even if she was left behind, I don't think her loyalties are with our people. She is loyal only to herself. And what the hell is Jack thinking, siding with her. Oh I know he thinks he's lost Kate but that doesn't mean he has to take up with Juliet. I know, nothing concrete has happened yet, but it will...trust me.
And yes, yes, yes!!! Why not move into this great city with power and running water... It makes complete sense. And if the Others do return, make sure you have the security fence turned on and that you change the code (and don't tell Juliet the new one).
BTW, great thread idea. ^^ |
(This post is about the episode that aired Wednesday.)
Oh my god. I can't believe it! BA I'm glad you were right, it makes everything so much better. I'm so looking forward to the next bunch of episodes.
Jack's far too trusting, I honestly think that when they find out about Juliet he's going to be tossed out of the role as leader. |
Yeah, an OMG moment. I was really starting to like Juliet, then she turned out to be undercover. And yeah, when she turns out to be a plant, they will most likely make Kate queen of the camp. Or Sawyer, but that's kinda unlikely.
My question, how does an electro-magnetic Island cause woman to kill themselves if pregnant? |
I love how they made us believe that she was all that Jack thinks she is and then, poof, we see her for what she really is. I think she is there to find out more about Sun or maybe even Claire. They need more women to experiment on and Sun is conveniently pregnant. I want to see someone smack Juliet around a bit...or a lot. And Sun can't lose the baby nor can her pregnancy make her body kill itself. That would be horrible. But, Lost doesn't pull any punches when it comes to shocking or horrible.  |
This is about the episode that aired last Wednesday entitled DOC. And it DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS, read at your own risk.
-----
It was a Sun episode, and I enjoy the character but the thing is. It's been a long time since we actually had a Sun or even a Jin episode. It was difficult to get into the flow of watching the character and learning all that. I dunno, maybe that was just me.
I think that Sun is going to be the only mother to live after giving birth. Or perhaps they'll kill her off in the next season if the actor is leaving the show. No idea, but I hope she lives because there's been so much loss on this show it's almost painful. But it's good that a show can touch people on the level to stimulate their emotions.
Anyway, what do you think is going on with Mikhail and the coming back from the dead? Was he even dead when he was pushed through, maybe that sonar fence puts people into a death-like trance. He was rushing to them and he tried to leave with the phone, perhaps the others needed him to find the phone so they brought him back. So many questions.
And wtf was that about flight 815 being dead!? Are they in some kind of limbo? My theory is this:
The island brought them there because it needed them for something, the island itself is a sentient living being and used the cone of black smoke to act as it's right hand (technically(If this is true we'll find out eventually)). The island is constantly aware as to what's happening so it knows that the sub is gone and there is NO way of getting off the island. I think that the island can change the currents to lead all ships/rafts back to the island no matter how hard they try. But, a few episodes back Claire let a letter go on a seabird that would eventually land. My theory is that the island freaked about that and created an alternate plane with exact doubles of the passengers that survived on the island only made it so that they were all dead. With the "plane" found and the "passengers" all dead, why bother searching for something that's already been found? |
The producers have denied that the characters are in limbo or in purgatory for 2 years now but that may have been a blatant lie to mislead us. When the parachute woman said there plane was found and everyone was dead, it seemed to imply that they had found their dead bodies. DNA or dental records could have confirmed their identities. I do think the island is a concious being or entity but I don't know if it could have made up real flesh bodies. there is also an element of fate or destiny since so many things happened to these people to get them all on that same flight. Great critical thinking though. You should so be back in school!!! |
