Thought I'd share some baby stuff with you all.

My husband is convinced that our baby is already showing signs of being stubborn, mischevious, and maybe a little belligerent. Here's why:

Week 18 Doctor's appt: The doctor has to look for the heartbeat for a long time and every time she finds it, it moves. She gets a little frustrated, probably because she knows that I may start thinking something is wrong soon. But she finds it and all is well.

Week 20 U/S: The baby is incredibly squirmy and keeps his or her legs transverse (up and down) so we cannot find out the gender. The tech looks for a long time and says that at most, she can say that she might have seen something between the legs for a second but it could have been the cord.

Week 21 Doctor's appt: The doctor finds the heartbeat quickly but just as she's starting to measure it, the baby moves. She has to look 6 times before the baby cooperates and she finally can get a reading. After the 4th time, she looks down at me and says, "Is the baby moving a lot?" I sheepishly say, "I don't know; I can't feel anything," which was the truth.

My husband thinks the baby is in there saying, "Ha ha. You think you've got my heartbeat but no, just when you relax, I'll move again."

Those of you who know my husband and me too, won't be surprised by this. With us as parents, how could the baby be anything else but a little rebel. Now if only he or she will cooperate in 3 weeks when we get the 3/4D ultrasound done, I can stop calling him or her "the baby" all the time.

Oh yeah, and on Sunday, I started feeling the baby move around. I realized that I have been feeling it for awhile now but didn't know what I was feeling. Now, both my husband and I are able to feel him or her doing somersaults, punching or kicking (not too hard yet) and maybe what might be hiccups. Hooray!!!

Glad everything is going well. Mayde the baby wants to keep his or her gender a secret from you until the big day? Are you still working?

Yes I'm still working. I plan to teach until the end of the school year in June and then go on Maternity leave in September. At the end of June, I'll be just 7 months.
