One of the coolest things that came out of this episode is that Peter can retain his powers and that makes him the strongest and most important of all the heroes. He has the potential to be all of them at once for all time. However, learning to control his powers, to pull and use one at a time, is the tricky party.
I would be asking Claude, who told him that he knew an "Empath" like Peter before, what happened to him or her? Did he or she self-destruct and take out a city? Or did he or she eventually learn to use only one or two powers at a time?
Also, does Peter blow up because he absorbs Ted's power or because he overloads on all the powers he has. I think his visions must be meant metaphorically since there is no way they could have evacuated New York that quickly.
If so, then Isaac pulling Simone back and away from Peter is meant to show that he will continue to try to keep them apart. And Nathan, coldly stating that he won't leave and that he can "help," while just standing there and then dying, shows how truly helpful Nathan is. He KNOWS about the previous group of heroes, and I believe he was a part of them trying to stop some event just like our heroes.
Any thoughts? |
