Unexpected
First aired: 2/19/2007
Peter learns that he and Claude may have been betrayed. Matt's reunited with the radioactive Ted Sprague and Hana Gitelman a woman with "wireless" mental abilities. Due to Linderman's influence Niki and Nathan meet again, this time under very different circumstances. After someone Hiro knows dies, he makes a tough choice about his mission. Claire can no longer hold back her anger towards HRG.
Yay!! Peter is back. But what I really want to see if how Claire deals with HRG now that his meddling has pretty much destroyed her adopted mother. Even if she survives, I don't think she'll have any memory left at all. |

Hey all. Been busy lately! Purdue U sucks that way.
Anyway, loved "Unexpected." Peter busted a move! He went invisible and telekinetic both at once (when he vanished and hurled the paint cans at Isaac).
My favorite part, though, was at the end when Matt, Ted, and Hana all strode into HRG's house ready to throw down. Plus it doesn't look like the Haitian is there to interfere with Matt's powers, plus what with next week's preview, it looks as if there will be a good deal more background of who HRG is, who he works for, etc. I LOVE BACKGROUND! I LOVE IT! I also love how Claude knows HRG and the Haitian, may possibly have even worked for or with him before. I'm worried for Peter, though; I'm afraid he's going to go bad before it's over with, or else maybe end up as the "Dark Knight" type character we all thought Sylar might have been at the beginning of the season.
Later friends,

OMG!!!! I usually don't swear in public but at the end of this episode I was chanting "Holy shoot!" What a huge episode. I knew it had to be something like this since this is the final episode in sweeps that will deal with our heroes. Next week will primarily be a flashback to 15 years ago when HRG was working with the other, first heroes (hopefully including Claude). I think there even is a chance that Nathan was there.
HRG almost brought me to tears when he was trying to explain to Claire why he had to erase her mother's memory...this time. Of course, I'm pregnant and weepier than usual but still. I really think he is the most conflicted character on the show and the perfect example of "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."
The confrontation between Peter and Isaac was so cool. Peter used the Sylar voice on him, prompting me to wonder, once again, if when Peter absorbs the powers of others, if maybe he also absorbs a bit of their personalities. The sponge or empath as it were. I do think you're right bs, that he will become the conflicted dark knight, he who was once the innocent, naive believer.
But, what the hell. They killed off another woman. There are now only 2 women left, really. How many women will they kill off before they take out one of the men (not that I want any more to die...well....maybe Matt.) I was just starting to really like Simone too. And I so wouldn't want to be Isaac, trapped in his apartment with Peter who must be full of grief and rage.
My only frustration comes when I realize that we won't be seeing the resolution to these cliffhangers for at least 2 weeks and since sweeps will be over, likely longer. Have to go do some marking. More later.... |

| Something me and my friend just came up with, is Hiro did change the future. He told Peter he almost didn't recognise him without his scar. Hiro then told him to save Claire, which led to his gaining regeneration. After gaining regeneration, he wouldn't have a scar. |

Hey I like Matt. but I am mad that they killed off Simone. I hope Peter doesn't go bad. but if he does...
Okay I came up with a theory while looking at one of the paintings of Isaac. Look at the painting in the background where the character is all fiery red. Doesn't it make you think that maybe Peter's not exploding but morphing into a whole new character. Inferno man or something.
(just a suggestion) |

I do dislike Hana. I think she encourages revenge and Ted and Matt were a little too eager to go after it. However, they're both scared out of their wits, being pursued and presumably monitored by some shadowy organization which is amoral in its handling of its business and not forthcoming with any information about itself.
Regarding the earlier reference to Nathan possibly having been involved with a previous "generation" of heroes as it were, I don't think that's the case. I think this because of the episode where he flew away from HRG and the Haitian in the Nevada desert. They were surprised that he could fly, and he didn't know who they were. I mean, maybe they have an idea who *he* is, but I don't think he knows who they are at all. Unless, the organization HRG works for didn't hire HRG until AFTER Nathan quit working for them. But I think Nathan works to hard to keep his flying power a secret that he wouldn't have ever voluntarily used it under someone else's guidance. |

It totally looked like he suspected Sylar. And I was yelling at him to get out the tape he found in his father's answering machine and listen to it again. Sylar's voice is very distinctive.
The only evidence I was going on in my theory that Nathan might have been working with HRG 15 years ago was when Claire asked the Haitian "How did my father know my parents? He didn't find them through an adoption agency?" and the Haitian replied, "They worked for you father." We'll see on Monday.
Oh yeah, was anyone else totally impressed by Hiro using his power again. It seemed like he controlled and bent space but not time since he didn't actually reverse the events that had just occurred. And I know Ando will be back. Hiro needs his straight man. He needs his sidekick.
I do think that as Peter gains more power, he will be come more of the focus and just wait until Sylar finds out about him. I think that saving Claire from Sylar was really small potatoes compared to keeping him from getting to Peter. Then he would be unstoppable. Literally. |

yeah, mohinder did look like he suspected sylar. i think that he will listen to the answering machine later and somethingg will happen. we'll see!
and speaking about sylar.. i have a theory that he killed nathan's/peter's dad, maybe he didnt commit suicide. and plus, sylar can fly right? i dont know where im going with this but it might show in future episodes. |

A conflicted dark Knight. I like the analogy, because I do think Peter will feel guilty over his part in Simone's death. I believe it will set back his "training" as he deals with these overwhelming emotions of grief and displaced guilt. (It wasn't his fault Isaac picked up a gun to kill him. It was in his defense he went invisible.) The whole scenerio sounds a lot like Batman, though. I used to think the writers would make Peter turn to the "Dark Side", but I believe the Dark Knight scenerio is much more plausible. It will only make him stronger in the end - which will come in handy when he fights Sylar!!
BTW - what do you all think about the "VOICE" of angry Peter? Was it just his anger or was it Eden's powerful persuasive power emerging? He is the only on who could have it now, since he met Eden when he met Mohinder at Mohinder's apartment early on in the show. I doubt very highly Peter would have ever even guessed he had such a power, yet it could have emerged to make Isaac tell the truth he demanded of him (which Isaac promptly did). |

OMG!!! That was Eden's voice. I forgot about it. Great catch!!! Now Peter has the best power of all!!! And Eden can live on in him. |

I was totally surprised that it turned out to be Simone who was shot, but I would be lying if I said I would miss her character. I won't, actually. I didn't like her from the beginning.
Another character I'm not fond of: Matt and the interplay between him and his wife. He needs to grow a pair and leave the adultress behind, IMO. I am not sure how I feel about him teaming up with Hana and the radioactive guy, but I am interested to see how it plays out tonight.
I was so disappointed to see Peter turn ugly in the last scenes of last week's episode. I have been rooting for him from the beginning, but now I'm afraid he will turn to the "dark side," though, to be perfectly honest, I knew it had to happen to one hero eventually.
I missed the interaction between Nikki and Jessica last week. |
