Okay, everyone. I am a big burly man, but I admit I have cried at movies. I cried at the end of "Ghost" and cried at two of the scenes in "Steel Magnolias," among others.

Television, however, though quite addicting, very seldom gets such a reaction from me. I just watched episode 17 of "Heroes" and have just marked the second time ever that a television series has ever made me cry(The other time was in "Becoming: part 2", the second-season finale of of BTVS, after Buffy killed Angel).

I guess since I'm a father myself this episode's climax was particularly powerful for me. At first I thought the Haitian would kill HRG, but in a way it's even worse than that. He grew to love Claire, despite whatever duties or loyalties he had to his "Organization". It was probably harder for him to ask the Haitian to do what he did than to have the Haitian kill him.

So, there it is: second time TV has ever made me cry.

Love to you all.

p.s. -- My wife made fun of me.

I am so with you on your reaction to the ending, bs!!! Maybe it's because I'm pregnant (but no, that just made my emotional response more intense) but I cried and cried when I realized what "Go deep," meant. And my husband also cried although not as loudly as I did. And now, the tears are welling up again as I think about it. What greater sacrifice could there be than to give up your memories of your child...just as you are about to lose her, perhaps forever.

When HRG shot Claude, like, 4 or 5 times, I was sure he was going to be revealed to be overall, a "bad" person. But, he is so complex and he continued to change. I'm going to start a thread on him later today when I'm done teaching. And now I have to go because my students are here.

I also shed a few tears at the end of the episode. When he gave up his memories I just gained such a new respect for him. Earlier on he wasn't someone I cared much about, but now I think he's a genuine good person.

I watched the episode on Sunday, and again on Monday and I shed tears both times. It was just such a powerful moment for his character. Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who shed a few tears.

This was the first big Holy crap episode since probably the first. It was the first that left me speechless after initially having to tape my mouth shut because I kept shouting things like, OMG and I knew it. It was such an emotional ride. When HRG shot Claude I was so hating him and deciding that "gray" wasn't the right word for his morals but black was.

Then, he grew to love his daughter so much that everything changed. Oh my. I have to see it again this weekend!

Wow. First off, a bunch of friends come over every monday to watch Heroes. None of us cried, but we were left speechless for twenty seconds and then my friend John said, "OK, I'm going to watch 24."

Going back and thinking on it, through most of "Company Man," I kept coming back to the thought that HRG was exactly what our first impressions said. Then, at the end, he had the Haitian shoot him and brainwash him.

Well, a very revealing episode to say the least.
