First of all, thanks to Zanko for remembering Candice's name.
So, the newest hero can morph but not just herself, the environment around her changes too. And she seems to have a pretty wicked and twisted sense of humour  seeing as she took joy in taunting Isaac with the image of Simone. Not that he didn't deserve it. I mean, come on, he shot her and then, his excuse was, that he really was trying to shoot Peter. Ummm...hello. Not a valid excuse for murder.
I saw an interview with Missy Peregrym and she said that she has no idea if she will ultimately be good or evil and that they don't tell the actors anything about their characters in advance. They only learn new developments when the see the script for that week's filming.
But she has such great potential. She can so totally screw with the heads of any of the heroes. Imagine what she could do to poor naive Hiro. Or to Nathan...showing him his wife no longer crippled, getting him to freak out and then...who knows.

Considering we know that she's working for the Organization, I think that she's going to be evil. I mean, HRG is an exception because he seemed to have a conscience. But Candice just seems to get such a pleasure out of being evil.
I think we can expect a lot of trouble from this one. I mean, the table's might be turned when Peter comes near here (But that'd only work if they learned enough of her to hurt her) but I'm just thinking of what could happen. |

| But that in itself is altering the environment. If she didn't she'd morph similar to Mystique from X-Men, just altering her physical form. |

Yeah she actually changed things around her. In Isaac's place she changed the scene so that the cops weren't able to see Simone's body on the couch nor did they see the blood and the mess. |

Weighing in...
Candice's power seems to be like projecting holographic images. It's quite impressive. She is obviously more like Sylar than any of the good guys. She almost gives the impression that she has chosen to work for the Organization because she gets some sort of rush out of screwing with people's heads.
And I've got to say, wicked though it was, quite impressive the way she got the best of HRG. Of course, now that I empathize with him, I don't like her very much for betraying him. I hope they don't hurt him or his wife trying to "extract" information about Claire's whereabouts from them.
Side note: when Claire was complaining about her new identity being Canadian, isn't that a slight inside joke, being that the actress playing her is Canadian, or is that just...

I was relieved when Candice turned out to be just the form of HRG's wife. I thought the poor guy was going to have his wife turn on him. With all the other stuff going on, he doesn't need that.  |

I was startled by that, but not really that surprised after thinking back to the scene where the two women first met and Candice was all interested in Mrs. Bennet's hair. She was trying to commit to memory what it looked like so she could look like her later, if necessary. I think the organization was suspicious of HRG, probably going back longer than he knew, and were going to find some way to sucker him or something.
I wonder what's going to happen to that organization. Seems that all the people who decide to be decent human beings end up dead, labrats, or on the run. Claude, Claire, the Haitian, Nathan, Peter, HRG, Eden, Ted, Matt. They seem to be a little worse than "Morally Gray" like HRG's boss (isn't his name Thompson?) said in the flashbacks episode. Man, I just hope HRG isn't dead meat now like Eden.

Great thinking. And great ideas. I agree that it is more likely that Candice will be on the evil side of things. Although she may also just love screwing with people and reveling in her power. Remember Eden in the flashbacks from before HRG found her and helped her find her moral centre. And she did seem to be disapproving of Isaac's murder of Simone. Someone who was completely evil wouldn't care about that or might even think it was cool. I do hope they explain her powers more than they did Hana's or have Micah's. I know that it may be asking too much but part of what was most frustrating about X-Files was when they wrote things off in the later seasons as just "paranormal," and didn't offer any explanation. Different show I know.
I do think it was an inside joke about Claire being bummed out that she would now be Canadian. |
