Walking down the dirt road he gripped the wooden staff in his hand harder. Sighing he brushed the bangs back and they fell back into his face again. Stopping suddenly, he looked up at the gates and was glad to be in their shadow and out of the sun. Turning to face the man who traveled with him. Opening his mouth he said in his cold voice.

"You know, if you hadn't spent all your money on useless items we could have rented a pair of chocobo's and been here in a fraction of the time." Sighing again he shook his head. "But no, money must burn a hole through your pocket." Sighing he stepped up to the gate's and put his hand against the cool metal.

He frowned at his friend, holding up a bag that contained a bunch of vials, holding many different looking liquids.

"Hey! You never know when you'll needs some... uhm..." he rustled round in the bag and pulled out a vial containing a clear liquid, "Eye drops! You'd be in deep trouble if you came across a Dust Hawk without some of these." he trailed off towards the end of his sentence. He scratched his head, still looking at the bag, before moving his face upwards to look at his friend, putting on a big goofy grin.

Watching his friend rummage through the bag he was carrying. Staring at the clear liquid he shrugged his shoulders and nodded. "Your absolutely right. But they'd be more useful to you then me, as I can still cast in the dark." Smirking he took the vial and said again. "But, this is useless as Dust Hawks aren't native to this region."

Grinning he placed the vial back into his friends pack and turned to the door. Pushing it open he slipped inside his leather boots tapping against the cobblestone walkways of Bastok.

--Billix--

He stared at the bag for a moment, then looked up to watch his friends walk past. "Hey wait for me guys!"
He ran up behind Zyro, the cobblestone path making his jet black boots judder slightly as he moved faster. As he got within an inch behind him, he let out a growling sound in attempt to make Zyro jump. He laughed as soon as he had finished, patting his friend on the back.

--Keiko--
She sat there. Silently. Awaiting her predators. Ready to snap into action at the glimpse of an eye. She knew they were coming, and the road to Junon was too long to risk taking. They'd catch up with her. No. Here she can stay in the shadows, caressing the beautiful necklace she had stolen, hoping that her predators would pass by without noticing.

Looking around the city he stopped when he heard Billix growling. Turning his head halfway to glance behind at his friend he said curtly. "You know, if I had been stupid enough to fall for that scheme. You'd be burnt to a crisp."

Catching his friends eyes he grinned slyly as they headed for center of town. They had come here because of a thieving that had happened to Billix. Looking around he said curtly. "You know, you really should keep better track of your stuff, we might not be on this little excursion."

He turned around and chuckled, giving Ken a sly grin back "Well excuse me for being nowhere near as cynical with people as you!" he said in a joking tone.
He looked up at the sky, it was a beautiful day and the beaming sun made him think of being back on his farm, playing with his brother and cousins in the fields they owned. He sighed to himself, the thought had brough him back down to earth a little as he faced forward. He turned his head towards his feet, watching his boots knock against the cobble floor before letting out another faint sigh.

She dawdled along behind them, not really paying much attention to their bickering much too used to it by now. Haruka couldn't think of a time when they weren't fighting with each other. Besides, it was far too nice of a day to spend it focusing on their blaming each other for this unscheduled detour. Blinking as she realised how far ahead they were, Haruka moved quickly to catch up, her hand swinging her staff as she moved.

"Wait up!"

She called out softly, stopping as she walked along behind them and tilted her head looking around the village. Haruka whistled softly as she kept up with them.

Looking around the village he rubbed his forehead. Looking over his shoulder he heard the familiar voice of the White Mage of their group. As he watched her run to catch up with them he waited until she had caught up and said softly. "You should keep a sharp eye. If you get attacked you might have gotten hurt before we could come help."

Turning back to Billix he sighed. "If you had just let me put a charm on your trinket we could find where that little thief is hiding." Sighing he looked at them both and started walking. "Well, I suppose we'll have to do it the old fashioned way."

She looked up as she heard his words, shaking her head slowly at him, she had never met anyone as cynical as him. It still made her chest flutter at the thought that he would want to come save her if she did get into some sort of trouble.

“I’ll keep a note of that.”

Haruka said softly, continuing after them as they continued walking through the village. Pulling her cloak around her neck tighter, she smiled a little.

“There’s nothing wrong with that, makes for good exercise.”

"Hey come on Zy, we've been through this. And besides... we needed to come near here for supplies anyway, so the exercise and slight detour will do us some good.

He was quite touchy on the subject of his necklace and magickal charms for a number of reasons. For one he was always brought up to not believe in using "magick mumbo jumbo" to get himself out of trouble. Secondly, he was of the train of thought that his older brother provided him a form of protection whilst wearing it that he didn't want to negate with magick, as crazy as it may sound. But lastly, and most importantly, he also believed that he was responsible for losing his brothers old necklace, the trinket passed down through his family to the oldest (living) male. This gave him a strong sense of determination in finding the necklace and giving the theif a little payback if he or she decided to cross him once he had obtained it.
